PFC. Since I haven't heard anything about stopping the meeting in light of that rampage at the Department Store, it'll still be happening. Just be ready to move somewhere else if they tell us to; I'd say Route 35 would be a good place. So yeah, if you like Pokémon battling, come on up to the top of Goldenrod Depot in a few hours.

[And a few hours later, lurking on the rooftop of one Goldenrod Department Store is a kid with stupid glasses who seems more interested in his Pokégear than anything else. But that's really because people haven't showed up yet!! There's not a lot to suggest that there is even a thing still happening here, to be honest, no banners or anything. He... didn't really put in much effort to get snacks or anything, because there are vending machines right over there, and all the money people win can totally be used for food! ...And for the people who lose, they should have brought more money.]

[There's gonna be two subthreads below: mingling and battling. If two characters meet and want to duke it out, one of them should make a new thread under the battling comment, just to keep it neat.]

[Twilight tosses Spike a lemonade, and the Dragonite immediately twists off the top and starts drinking it down.]

I'm about done here if you want any, I just figured I'd treat them before the fights start. It looks like that might be a while, judging by the amount of people here.

[He tugs on his backpack. Totally stocked.]

Well, you could always just fight people with the Pokémon you have on hand. If there wasn't enough turnout for a tournament that's what I was going to suggest.

Well, that's the club in a nutshell, isn't it? Sounds reasonable enough. Think there's enough room up here if several fights break out at once, though?

I think there is. And if not, we can always just relocate.

Yeah, that's always a possibility. Might be necessary, too, if people start bringing out the heavier Pokemon. Like my Snorlax.

Snorlax?

[...Never seen one of those before.]

I didn't know people even trained Snorlax.

Don't let appearances fool you. I label my Snorlax as one of the most powerful, vital members of my team. They're slow, yes, but they're also very, very powerful and hard to take down.

Huh. Whatever works, I guess. [He shrugs.] How'd you end up with one of those?

I asked for one over the gear and someone was kind enough to give me one. I had a primarily offensive team at the time and I wanted a strong defense too. Sapphire fulfills that role quite nicely.

My starter was a pretty defensive Pokémon, and she ain't going anywhere.

[Pchoo, out comes a Claydol, who gives her greeting in a low drone and then promptly starts spinning. It does that.]

Though right now I'm mostly focusing on training some of my younger Pokémon, eheheh... [Yellow armband. Yup.]

[She raises an eyebrow at the giant... eye covered... owl statue?]

Very impressive. [And a little creepy.]

I noticed. I grabbed all of my strongest for this, but now I'm starting to wonder if that might have been a bad idea. Pyrolepi, Snails, and Robo could really use some more training...

[Ever just sat on top of a Claydol's head and rode it? Way better than riding any other Pokémon, pretty much.]

Not too late to jump back to the Pokémon Center. You won't miss much. [Because ha ha, empty rooftop.]

True. I'm not really ready to take on Riku yet anyway, and I do have an even faster way of getting there than flying.

[She opens up a ball, releasing her Alakazam.]

But then you have to walk all the way back.

[Also, hope you went into that Pokémon Center earlier... it would really suck if you walked out and found yourself in Ecruteak, huh?]

[Sollux doesn't sound too bothered by either of these things, though, so he's really just being his special Sollux self.]

Not if I keep Spike with me, or swap him out for Apus. I have options.

... If no one shows up with a purple or higher armband in the next fifteen minutes, I think that's exactly what I'll do, in fact.

[Because seriously, she joined this club for a reason, dangit.]

[Sollux casually glances down at the black and white pins on his armband. Maybe she's just not powerful enough for nineties?] You don't have to do a six-on-six battle, you know. Even just a one or two to start things off.

Hmmm, that's true.

[She folds her arms and ponders her options for a moment. She could stick around with her fully decked-out team and see how many people come around with higher level armbands and buttons, or she could go back and pick up some of her rookies.

She glances at Sollux's armband. Well, maybe she'll give the others a bit of time to show up before she decides.]

Well, there's no time like the present to start things off. Feel like a three-on-three matchup?

[He grins. Been waiting for this all day.]

[The Dragonite chugs the rest of his bottle and gives Twilight a dopey (and cheesy) thumbs up.]

That's my dragon. [She nods at Sollux.] Head for the middle of the roof, then? I'd hate to wreck the machines.

[He grins at that thumbs-up the Dragon-type gives, and nods back.]
