[In what is apparently becoming a recurring trend, Sollux doesn't look very happy as he turns on the PokéGear. Sure, he's covered in scratches and clearly hasn't slept well in days, despite the glasses hiding his tired eyes. There isa new Pokémon around him now, a small red and green dragonfly; it's not hard to guess at least one of the reasons why he's in such a sour state, because one of them is a Yanma, one of the rarest little buggers on the route north of Goldenrod. One wonders how long he spent looking for that thing.]

[The other reason would probably be the fact that he seemingly decided that his spirit animal is a Zapdos.]

[His previously black hair now has streaks of very yellowish blond in it, for one thing. And where it curled oddly before, each and every hair is now straight as a pin -- and at a seventy-five degree angle, sticking up from his head like he went Super Saiyan while no one was looking. The PokéGear is being held by Baltoy, whose limb can sometimes be seen repositioning the camera; Sollux seems unwilling to touch it himself, any more than he absolutely has to. Probably a wise decision, considering what he's learned on Alternia about tech and unchecked electricity.]

[But he doesn't seem to be ranting about this makeover today; he's not mentioning it at all, even though he certainly noticed. Instead, he looks up at the sky for a moment and back at the PokéGear. Apparently, someone has missed the demolition derby carried out on the local Pokémon Center, but what he heard from out on the Route is definitely not telling his survival instincts to go and check it out.]

What the hell is happening back in Goldenrod? I just heard some fucking unholy noises from over there.

I've walloped your ass enough times for you to know the answer to that. [Just... pointedly ignoring Vanitas. Anyone who poses a threat to his stubborn refusal to acknowledge the subject must be taken down immediately. He... he's still working on the 'takedown' part.]

[Narrows his eyes, he doesn't take to being ignored that well... and growls; it's fairly inhumane sounding now too, with those teeth amplifying the noise.]

Shut up, Vani. I hear you just fine. If you have that much energy how about you try getting up and walking since that worked so well for you last time.

[ Karkat rolls his eyes, looking back at Sollux. he's actually challenging his best friend here, Vanitas. knock it off. ]

So work to surpass me here, or is that just too much for Thollukth?

...Go die in the breeding caverns, you candy-blooded asshole. [He doesn't actually know Karkat's blood color, of course; indicating that someone falls below the hemospectrum is a common insult around his parts.]

[Nope. He isn't going to sit by with that insult and outright snarls, shoving himself into sitting up. Discharging a bit of electricity about the room, Vanitas curled his upper lip back with those teeth gnashing a bit.]

[ under normal circumstances, Karkat would just jump up and tell Vanitas to shut up. he'd also bitch at Sollux. but that growl... the electricity...

welp. Karkat is just watching. dumbfounded. ]

[Then that makes two of them.]

[...But only for a second. Soon enough, Sollux has stood up too, hissing and baring his teeth as any troll would if threatened. Guess who hasn't learned his lesson from the last time he picked a fight with someone who had just developed hugely dangerous powers? The answer is this guy.] Got a problem, sleepyhead?

Yeah, I do have a problem. [Shorting out the lights in the room, Vanitas managed to get himself up to his feet, throwing the blanket over the Pokemon on the bed before he inadvertently shocks them.]

Take back what you said or I'm ripping your throat out, here and now.

[ oh god. Karkat is having a severe flash back at the moment. give his brain a moment to catch up before he can stop this. ]

[Fortunately, it's still pretty light out so they're not left completely in the dark (but it's still noticeably harder to see than it would be as a troll). Un fortunately, he lets out another distinctly animalistic noise, and the current running around the room appears to have sent static flickering across his own skin. All we need is some glowing eyes and a color swap, and it'd be just like old times, eh Karkat?]

Why the fuck should I?

Just do it. [He's not going to wait patiently much longer though, stepping and taking a swift swing with his fist, his battle cry sounding more like a howling dog.]

[ and this time Karkat does snap out of it in time. like hell he's going to let something like this happen again.

he jumps up from his seat, hand catching Vani's fist with a wince. another hand goes up at Sollux. ]

BOTH OF YOU WIGGERLS STOP THIS SHIT RIGHT THE FUCK NOW! YOU'LL BLOW ALL OF US UP AND THAT'S JUST ANOTHER MESS THESE PEOPLE WILL HAVE TO FUCKING CLEAN! CUT IT OUT!

[ a sharp look to Vanitas. ]

He doesn't know, okay? No one fucking knew so step the fuck off and down, boy. Thank you very much for stepping up in my goddamn defense, but you're not the Knight here. That's me.

[ and now? now to Sollux. ]

And you! Stop pressing all of the goddamn buttons! I know you like the color red, but there's a reason you don't fucking press the red button! I thought you'd at least have the brains not to be baited again!

[And even through all of the RAWR RAWR MUST KILL VANITAS filtering through his mind, he still gets the memo when Karkat just jumps right up and catches his fist. It's the memo that this guy is not one to be trifled with, and when his brain catches up and helpfully pitches in that this is Karkat, he's more than inclined to listen. He's seen you mad, bro. He's seen you mad.]

[Thank God, he seems to step down, but the body language still conveys some very obvious murderous intent towards Vanitas. The degree of control over his lisp is also slipping, which doesn't really bode well for anyone.] I wouldn't have to if he didn't flip hith thit over one fucking inthult!

[He still doesn't stop growling, but Vanitas doesn't try to take another swing. Grunting and dragging his hand free, he crosses his arms and simply levels Sollux with a nasty look, still all sorts of displeased with what he said. He'd say something, but all of the things coming to mind would only point out what Karkat's blood color actually is, and he did promise to not say a word.

So instead, he just hisses like a snake.]

Will... If you'd fucking please... [ Karkat groans, tossing out a ball to release his Haxorus.

who will be starting to usher Vanitas to the bathroom. ]

Cool off, you fucking hothead...

[ but then he'll whirl around and face Sollux, finger very nearly jabbing into that scrawny chest. ]

Gee, Sollux! I thought you'd be fucking smarter than this. Whatever reason could he have to jump you over something as simple as an insult! Let me think... Oh right! Probably when it's a fucking fact!

[ he ruffles his own hair, heading toward the door. if it clicks, then Karkat is going to need to escape. maybe. he's very nervous over it, even if it's no longer a thing he needs to fret about. ]

At least I should take some goddamn comfort that you don't read my other conversations.

[Bad move, Karkat. Sollux spits again at the claw suddenly hovering near his chest, still not quite out of 'fighting mode'. But despite this, he manages not to jump Karkat then and there; instead, he holds his ground for the duration of the Shocking Revelation. The monstrous split of his face breaks pretty quickly after Karkat finishes speaking, but it clearly takes a moment for him to register.]

[Processing... processing...]

[...yeah, it clicked.]

[Growling and not particularly wanting to go, he can't stay on his feet for very long now that the adrenaline is out of his system; getting pushed, he has no choice but to go to the bathroom.]

[ success on one front. ~~which means this thread can continue while Okami has some dad and birthday shenanigans~~

Karkat's so insecure about the entire thing, even if it's really not a thing anymore. he looks over his shoulder, pausing. even though he's scowling and maintains a steady tone in his voice, it's taking all of his will not to shake. ]

What, Captor? I'm going to find an umbrella or some shit since I don't need another shower today.

[...Of course it was a thing. Karkat had just said it was a thing. He and Vanitas had just made it abundantly fucking clear it was a thing. Oh shit. And he just. Oh shit. Oh shit. God, he's such an asshole...]

[ his hand released the door and along with it the breath he had been holding. Karkat would say that it's not THAT big of a deal, but with the outburst that Vanitas had? impossible. so karkat pushes his way back in and goes to shove Sollux back into the other chair. ]

Shut up, moron. How many times do we say shit and apologize for it later in the most humiliating fashion possible? It's fine.

[Karkat doesn't quite succeed in getting Sollux down, but he does succeed in moving him backwards. Sollux slumps into the chair all by himself, all groans and head-clutching and overreacting massively as usual.] No, this is-- this is different, KK! This isn't just random shit, this is kind of important, don't you think?!

[ Karkat rolls his eyes and heads for the beside table. he fishes around for some pain killers. just in case. he takes two out and grabs Captor's wrist, slapping them in a hand. ]

It's only important because it means you're not the only mutant freak of this outfit.

[Sorry to interrupt this moment guys, but Vanitas is flinging the door from the bathroom open, trying to drag himself out through the doorway; water reacting with the electricity is making the entire bathroom spark up and it's not calming in the least bit.

That, and he doesn't like being unincluded in this conversation. At least it looks like he got slightly wet in the attempted shower..]

[Sollux accepts the painkillers, but doesn't ingest them, just holding them awkwardly in one hand. He's about to respond to Karkat too, has his mouth open and everything planned about how it's not about him (except for the fact that he's a moronic shithead) and it is in fact about Karkat, etcetera. Fortunately or unfortunately depending on your point of view, this is the part when Vanitas decides to make a spontaneous reappearance. At this point his expression regulates (more or less) back to a lineface. The battle to not say something like "Good thinking, Sparky" is hard won.]

[Realizing with some concern that he has nothing else to say in its place, Sollux pops the painkillers. He then realizes that Karkat is still standing right there and he should probably work out some kind of way to patch things up.] ...You alright?

[Way to patch things up, asshole!!!]

[ even though he says that, Karkat is very much relieved. sure, it had been an insult, but Karkat knows that Sollux wouldn't have said it if he had known. things got out of hand, as per usual. but to show how "fine" he is, Karkat flicks Sollux in the forehead. yeap. still friends. it's weird being the one on the other end this time, even if the words aren't really said. ]

I'm thinking you and Sparky over there are going to be going without showers until you control your shitty powers. You've been a red and blue flashlight, right? Deal with this shit.
